๐ถ How I Made a Realistic Pomeranian Sculpture from Wool (Needle Felting Art)
There’s something magical about turning soft wool into a lifelike little dog that fits in the palm of your hand.
In today’s post, I want to share the story behind my latest needle-felted sculpture — a fluffy black and white Pomeranian that looks like it’s about to bark or wag its tail!
✨ Inspiration Behind This Piece
๐งถ Materials I Used
๐พ The Process Step by Step
1. Building the Base:
I started with a rough shape of the body using core wool. It’s always important to get proportions right before adding color.
2. Adding Color and Texture:
I carefully layered black and white wool to mimic the real pattern of a Pomeranian’s coat. Blending the edges gives a more natural look.
3. Details Matter:
The tiny nose, tongue, and shiny eyes bring everything to life. I spend the most time here — because that’s where the sculpture starts to “feel alive.”
4. Final Touches:
I trimmed the fur gently with small scissors to get that fluffy, realistic finish. The end result? A miniature Pomeranian that looks ready to play!
Every sculpture starts as a handful of wool and ends up with a personality of its own.
❤️ Why I Love Making Felted Dogs
Every custom piece I create tells a story. Sometimes it’s a memorial sculpture of a beloved pet, sometimes a gift for a dog lover.
No matter the reason, the best part is seeing someone’s reaction when they recognize their furry friend in wool form.
If you’ve ever wanted to try needle felting, start small — and don’t worry if your first attempt isn’t perfect. Every sculpture teaches you something new.

๐ Final Thoughts
This little Pomeranian now has a new home — and I hope it brings as much joy to its owner as it did to me while creating it.
